Creatives support each other

My largest leaps forward in my creative skills and productivity happen in community. It's so much easier to show up to the work, if someone is also there. Otherwise, other less important tasks can take over.

Yes, there are times when I need to be alone to sketch, measure, read for my paintings; research, plan and make notes on fibre arts patterns; and play scales and work through flute pieces with my metronome... but...

...my happy place is creating in community:

-taking art classes

-adult colouring books with friends

-knitting with a group from my faith community, in support of charitable organizations

-playing flute duets with a friend

-having a painting partner for regular painting sessions.

I love the feeling of working with my hands, while chatting with others. We learn from each other. They may have some material or medium that I've never seen before, or a method or technique that is helpful. We encourage each other, even if only by witnessing each others' lives and work.

Creatives make good company.
